If you are great in a meeting, you need to be on video
A competitor with far less experience can now sound just as expert in writing, because generated text produces clean and engaging copy for anyone. Gerard offers a test for working out where your own advantage sits. If you deliver most of your value in a meeting, answering hard questions on the spot and reaching for the context and analogies that make an idea land, then writing is costing you that advantage. Someone reasonably proficient with an AI tool will out-write you. They will struggle to hold two minutes on camera without it looking contrived. Video is the format where a viewer gets to make their own judgement about whether a person genuinely understands the subject, and that judgement is getting harder to make anywhere else. Gerard expects consultants, advisers and professional service firms to reach this conclusion in numbers.
