No likes on your LinkedIn posts? Look at watch time instead

Posts that get few likes and comments might still be doing their job. Gerard's theory: likes mostly come from people who already know you, because LinkedIn shows your content to your existing network first. If your goal is reaching net new people, that applause is the wrong measure. A video with a few hundred views from the right people, viewers just learning who you are, is worth more than a well-liked post that never left your network. The better signals are reach and watch time. When strangers watch to the end of your video, they are engaging, just passively. They will not stick a hand up and comment, and we should not expect them to. Accept that, and the posts that go quiet stop feeling like failures. Judge your content by who it reaches and how long they stay, not by the count under the post.
